The Austrian flag design is thought to be one of the oldest national flags in the world. According to legend, Duke Leopold V of Austria was fighting during the Siege of Acre. After the battle, his surcoat was red with blood. When he removed his belt, the cloth underneath was still white, inspiring the red and white horizontal stripes on this flag. The current version of the flag was adopted in 1984. Made from economy polyester. Made in China. Measures 3 ft. x 5 ft. This single reverse flag is dyed and finished with strong canvas headings and brass grommets.
