The Austria Miniature Economy Polyester Flag is a miniature version of the larger Austrian flag. This flag is made from light-weight polyester mounted on a wooden staff. Base not included.
The Austrian flag design is thought to be one of the oldest national flags in the world. According to legend, Duke Leopold V of Austria was fighting during the Siege of Acre. After the battle, his surcoat was red with blood. When he removed his belt, the cloth underneath was still white, inspiring the red and white horizontal stripes on this flag. The current version of the flag was adopted in 1984.
