Cameroon was the second country to adopt the Pan-African colors for its flag. The red central stripe signifies unity, and the 5-pointed star within it is the Star of Unity. The yellow stripe signifies the sun, as well as the savannahs in northern Cameroon. The green stripe symbolizes hope and represents the lush forests in southern Cameroon.
