This flag, named after Colonel Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina, was flown early in 1776 by Commodore Esek Hopkins of Rhode Island, first Commander-in-chief of the Continental Fleet. Its inscription represented a warning by the colonists to the British.

This durable, acid dyed flag is on sturdy cotton and is finished with a canvas heading and 5/8 in. diameter brass grommets. Made for indoor or outdoor use.

Please Note: The large grommets on the cotton flags require the use of our neverfurls for hanging on poles indoor or out.
