Japan Flag with Pole Hem and Fringe

The Japanese flag is formally known as Nisshoke, "sun-mark flag," but is more commonly referred to as Hinamaru, "circle of the sun." The flag was officially adopted in 1999. However the sun motif was used as early as 701 C.E. in the court of Emperor Mommu.

This flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a 3 in., flannel-lined pole hem with Velcro hang tab and bordered with gold rayon fringe. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back. This flag is suitable for indoor or parade use.

This flag is used by Japan's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.

Please Note: This flag is made to order. Please allow up to 2 weeks for shipping.
