Lesotho's current flag was adopted in 2006 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of independence. The design reflects the country's peaceful orientation. The shield, lance, and club of the former flag were replaced with a
mokorotlo, a Basotho hat, which is black, signifying Lesotho as a black nation. In this flag, blue stands for rain and the sky, white represents peace, and green represents the land.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Lesotho's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
