The current flag of Laos was adopted in 1975 when the country became a people’s republic. The white disk symbolizes the unity of the people under the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the country’s bright future. It may also represent the full moon against the Mekong River. The red stripes stand for the blood of the people who fought for freedom and the blue represents their prosperity.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Laos’s government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
