Nauru adopted this flag on its independence day, January 31, 1968. This flag shows Nauru’s geographical position south of the equator, depicted by the yellow band. The blue background represents the Pacific Ocean. The white, 12-pointed star symbolizes Nauru itself. Each point represents one of the island’s 12 indigenous tribes.
This flag is dyed on silky, lustrous rayon and is hemmed and mounted to a 10 in. black pole that includes a gold-painted spear. Base not included.
