Nicaragua’s flag, adopted in 1971, is based on that of the disbanded United States of Central America. The two blue stripes represent the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea while the white stripe stands for peace. Alternatively, modern interpretations suggest that blue represents justice and loyalty while white symbolizes virtue and purity. The civil version of this flag does not include Nicaragua’s coat of arms.
This flag is printed on cotton muslin and mounted to a 30 in. natural wood dowel staff. Base not included.
