Moldova adopted this flag on April 27, 1990. Since 2010, April 27 has been Moldova’s Flag Day. This flag’s tricolor is almost identical to that of Romania, reflecting the cultural affinity between the two. In the center of the yellow stripe is Moldova’s coat of arms, an eagle holding a shield charged with an aurochs. The eagle holds olive branches of peace in either talon.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Moldova’s government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
