Slovakia adopted this flag in 1992. However the flag’s basic design has been used off and on since the revolutionary year 1848. This flag includes the Pan-Slavic colors which now stand for Slavic unity and independence. The emblem was taken from Hungary’s coat of arms. The patriarchal cross represents Orthodox Christianity and the mountains symbolize 3 mountainous regions across the country.
This flag is dyed on silky, lustrous rayon and is hemmed and mounted to a 10 in. black pole that includes a gold-painted spear. Base not included.
