Vietnam adopted this flag in 1941 after Ho Chi Mihn declared the country independent. The red background was inspired by the flag of the communist party and symbolizes revolution and blood. The yellow 5-pointed star represents the unity of workers, peasants, intellectuals, youths, and soldiers in building socialism.
This flag is dyed on silky, lustrous rayon and is hemmed and mounted to a 10 in. black pole that includes a gold-painted spear. Base not included.
