Liechtenstein adopted this flag in 1937. Until 1921, the flag was simply red and blue. During the 1936 Summer Olympics it was discovered that Liechtenstein and Haiti shared the same flag, and so the crown was added. The colors are thought to be derived from the livery colors of the royal household in the 18th century.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Liechtenstein's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
