Monaco's flag was adopted in 1881 under Prince Charles III. It is a bicolor of white and red, which have been the family colors of the House of Grimaldi since at least 1339. These colors are displayed in a diamond pattern on the shield of Monaco's coat of arms.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Monaco's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
