Macedonia’s flag, designed by Pr. Miroslav Grcev, depicts a stylized sun with 8 rays extending beyond its red background. It was adopted in 1995 after Greece demanded it remove the Vergina Sun from the old flag. The sun on this flag is called “the new sun of Liberty.”
This flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a 3 in., flannel-lined pole hem with Velcro hang tab and bordered with gold rayon fringe. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back. This flag is suitable for indoor or parade use.
This flag is used by Macedonia’s government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
