Green represents the rich land, black stands for Africa, yellow symbolizes the country's minerals, red represents the struggle for independence, and the white fimbriations symbolize peace. The yellow star in the emblem stands for Marxism and internationalism. The AK-47 stands for defense and vigilance, the open book signifies the importance of education, and the hoe represents agriculture.
