Namibia adopted this flag in 1990. Red represents Namibia's people, their heroism, and their determination to build a future for all. White stands for peace and unity, green symbolizes vegetation and natural resources, and blue represents the sky, the Atlantic Ocean, and Namibia's precious water resources. The gold sun with 12 rays represents life and energy.
This flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a 3 in., flannel-lined pole hem with Velcro hang tab and bordered with gold rayon fringe. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back. This flag is suitable for indoor or parade use.
This flag is used by Namibia's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
