Rwanda's flag, adopted in 2001, was designed by Alphonse Kirimobenecyo. The sun on this flag represents enlightenment. The blue band stands for happiness and peace, yellow symbolizes economic development, and green symbolizes hope for prosperity. This flag represents national unity, respect for work, heroism, and confidence in the future.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Rwanda's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
