The Sao Tome and Principe Flag was developed during the Liberation Movement against Portuguese rule in Africa. It incorporates the Pan-African colors. The two five-pointed black stars represent the unity of the two islands. The red triangle represents the struggle for independence. The two green stripes represent agriculture, while the yellow stripe represents cocoa beans and other natural resources.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Sao Tome and Principe's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
