Togo's flag was adopted in 1960 and was designed by artist Paul Ahyi. This flag features the Pan-African colors popularized by Ethiopia. The red square symbolizes loyalty and patriotism. Yellow represents mineral wealth and the faith that hard work and strength will bring prosperity. The white star stands for peace, dignity, and independence. The 5 stripes stand for Togo's 5 geographic regions.
This outdoor flag is made from durable 200-Denier nylon that has been treated to resist fading. The flag is finished with a sturdy white canvas heading and grommets. Its image is dyed, single-sided, and reversed on the back.
This flag is used by Togo's government and displayed at the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
