Radio station KABF has been around for about 32 years in Little Rock. It is a community radio station that is of the people, by the people and for the people. It’s motto is “voice of the people” and everyone is welcome. KABF was founded by Wade Rathke (founder of ACORN) and is operated by volunteers and paid for via listener donations. Surprisingly, it is one of the top 10 radio stations listened to in Little Rock. Providing a cornucopia of different music and talk shows, there is something for everyone to enjoy. From Black Oak Arkansas to Alanis Morissette, KABF has a wide variety of musical visitors that show up in person from time to time. A small station with a big heart, this public domain attracts an eclectic crowd of fans and listeners. When you tune in you will hear jazz, blues, gospel, rock and roll, country, metal or obscure music that you may never hear anywhere else. Another way KABF is the “voice of the people” is through the talk shows it offers. Community Voices, Democracy Now, T with Traci, Arkansas Talks and Up in Your Business with Kerry McCoy. Each show offers listeners something to think about on a variety of subjects. KABF is found on the FM dial at 88.3. Tune in and support Arkansas’ own “Do it yourself radio” station.
