Remember the Alamo Day

March 6th is the last day of the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. The Alamo fort was held by about 150 volunteers including Davy Crockett and James Bowie. For almost two weeks they were besieged by thousands of Mexicans who eventually overwhelmed the fort, sparing only 15 women, children, and servants. The fall of the Alamo inspired 800 volunteers led by General Sam Houston to attack the Mexican army of 1,500 at San Jacinto. The Mexican Army fell. Texas became a new republic separate from Mexico and the United States. Texas became a state of the USA ten years later. What better way to remember the Alamo than by displaying Alamo flags and the flags of Texas throughout your home and garden?
